Early Australiana ......

 Mikkira Cottage  ~

many early settlers and their families would have lived in little
stone cottages like this in rural South Australia in the 1800's
4 rooms and 2 large fire-places ensured a cosy environment in the winter

This is all you really need. We get so wrapped up in wanting more and bigger today.

I would like to live in a home as sturdy as that one looks today. The thick walls and chimney, very nice.

I lived the first few years of my life in a little shack no bigger than that. We got by - no fridge, no deep-freeze, no TV, no vacuum cleaner, no dishwasher, no electric iron, no toaster, no microwave.....but we got by.

John:- I think I could get by with out the mod cons but the thing I would really miss would been no Supermarkets or coffee shops down the road - Oh! and no electric lighting.
