lotus pond .......

Walking in the Adelaide Botanic Gardens last week
I was delighted to find beauty amid the dead and dying lotus pond

Pods which a few weeks back had been the centre for wonderful pink petals
have now nodded their head and formed little ballerina skirts
Leaves which had previously been vibrant green and alive
have now started to curl at the edges and develop into shades of burnished gold
creating a more mellow beauty

wishing you all a lovely week

Hi Diane. A very unusual flower (to me here in Britain). A most unusual colour too that dusky purple.

Glorious studies - sharp as... Well done on seeking out the beauty in a seemingly "past it" scene!
