Along the Railway Track ..........

~ a muddle of weeds and random field flowers  ~

While trying to get a better view from where to photograph
St Kilda Salt Lakes - I walked along the edge of this old railway track
and realised that the muddle of weeds and field flowers before me
had a kind-of beauty of there own

Like the composition. The small dots of yellow flowers amongst the mass of purple flowers is a delight.

Thank you - I'm pleased you noticed those little yellow flowers because on the day they lit up the area but didn't capture as well in my pic

Who traveled on that line long ago?? It tells a story of the past.

Yes, weeds are just plants we did not cultivate. They can have a beauty all their own.

Sometimes these 'forgotten' places are the only places to find remnant vegetation that was once common in gardens and wild areas alike but now are hard to find. Sometimes they are the only examples of their kind left in the area. I'm not sure if that is the case with the flowers in your picture but my curiosity wonders.

I love the juxtaposition of soft, pretty flowers and vegetation against the hard lines of an industrial setting.

Very nice photo. She reminded me my photos from last summer, red poppies near railway.
