Palais Royal .........

~   Le Jardin du Palais Royal   ~

Where the Parsians come to sit quietly and ponder
read a little Balzac or Baudelaire or maybe just soak up the summer sun.

I always cringe a little when groups of tourists
arrive and invade their space ....
and then I remember -  I too am a tourist !

I agree it can be tricky to be a tourist in a local place, but we are not overtly touristy (taking out camera on every instance) it should be ok...its a fine line!

...:) yes it's true. We become a little selfish I guess wanting that photo seemingly picture-perfect without anyone's head or arm or leg encroaching upon its space. As if we own it! Some times people in our shots helps define how popular a place is, but I admit to being like you Diane, I do aspire to people-free mostly. I suspect that what the blurring was for? Beautiful photos, and the roses sooo special. I smell a cappuccino coming on....

Yes Dianne, you are a sensible tourist, that would not disturb them. Love those roses.

P.s. Absolutely love the old fashioned roses, wonder if they're David Austen roses.

Ahh we may be tourists Dianne but we can pretend, just for a moment, that we own the place, n'est pas?

Just wonderful Dianne!
Thank you for a little taste of Paris - as that's my lot this year.
We have put our trip on hold until next year and it will be a much longer one.
When are you going next?

Lovely roses in a beautiful place. Being a tourist can be tricky - one wants to show excitement because of the adventure, but also respect for the locals. I always look for people-free photo opportunities, and try to distance myself from the loud chatter. The rose is such a gorgeous colour.
