Cockle Train ........

Steam-Ranger's  -  "Duke of Edinburgh"  departing from Victor Harbour
All Aboard !!
This historic steam loco journeys about 12 kilometres along the edge of the
Great Southern Ocean to the quaint township of Goolwa
After a short walk around town it's re-boarding and then back
again with wonderful views looking out to sea.
We were sooo.... fortunate to spot beautiful Southern -Right whales cruising not far from the shore
who every now and again ( to our delight ) blew sprays of water from their dual blow-holes
a spectacular and unique sight and made for a wonderful Day-Out!

So much enchantment in old trains like this. How wonderful to spot the whales as a bonus. Great to see nature doing her "thing".

What a wonderful day out taking you back to the days of the steam trains and the added bonus of being able to view the whales. A truly day to remember.

I really like the shot of the luggage and the group of people by the train.

Sounds like a fabulous day out Dianne. First the steam train then the Southern Right Whales on show. Sometimes I think the trick is just to step outside the front door. It doesn't matter where you end up there is always something new to see.
