Camel on the Beach .....


~   Encounter Bay  ~
 
No! I'm not in Morocco or Algiers
but right here in South Australia 
 
 
Unfortunately I missed the front camel's head
don't you just hate that!!
They made a wonderful splash of colour
along the beachfront on a very cold  & wintery day.

These are fantastic! Did you know that the camels were brought into Australia from India in ships...and perhaps from a few other countries. Many of the camels have their brethren in Rajasthan, India :)

All we have on our beaches are occasional donkeys. Camels are much more exciting.

...I love the Moroccan colours ... and yes we do spit chips when we just miss some vital part of a photo opportunity. Never mind, beaut' photos Dianne - seems you didn't go for a ride though?

You often see camels on the sand but not with the sea behind them. great photos.

I thought it was cCable Beach in WA . So they are using them in SA too for the tourists? They are very colourful. I hope you rugged up well.
