The Old And The New ........

This beautiful old rotunda located in Elder Park
was originally constructed in 1882.
It is now dwarfed by the majestic backdrop
of our newly renovated and ultra-modern Adelaide Oval
which sits just across the river.

I love these old bandstands though it's rare to see one in use these days. As an Englishman I have no wish to discuss cricket grounds just now!

Happy New Year to you Dianna.
Love the old and the new, I prefer the old - I remember a lovely old rotunda in the domain where I used to live and the brass band would sometimes come and play there on a Sunday afternoon.
Enjoy the week

The mix of old and new is nice. Each era's beauty stands on its own, but the combination is lovely.

I do like the way that you have captured this Dianne. Not an easy shot and executed so well. The light on the band stand the people casually sitting around remind me of stories of other time and then I am brought boldly back into 2014 with the electric blue lights on the architecture behind.
