Near Rabbit Island .......

~   Poonindie  Beach   ~

 red-capped dotterel
or as more commonly referred to, red-capped plover

I spotted him on a looong walk ... along the pristine remote
shores of lower Eyre Peninsula. He was stepping timidly in the shallows
I was lying flat-out on the sand hoping and praying that he
wouldn't scurry off before I had time to click the shutter.

like a work of art Dianne and you got him! I'd have like to have gotten a photo of YOU!!

Some time back a juvenile w-b-s-eagle was gliding over the beach and I desperately wanted to lay flat on my back and point that lens to the sky but I was afraid someone would think I'd had a heart attack!

I can see you lying prone to photograph. TOH takes photos of me when I do that.

Hi Dianne. This looks like a wonderful piece of art. I heard a Ken Duncan (photographer extraordinaire say that today photographs are created not taken. I agree. Both are an expression of art. Ciao J.

I loved the Eyre Peninsula when we were there last year. I hope we can visit again one day.
Good on you for laying in the dirt to get the pic. I like your texture on the image.

As soon as I saw the thumbnail of this image, I knew that I would love it. Stunning. and it could easily be a watercolour, really love it!

I assume a bit of texture and photo editing came in to play and how right you did. The shot is bautiful. Don't these little critters have an Aussie nickname? I'm sure they do :)
