Tomato On A White Platter ....

I often smile when I see the simple titles of Impressionist paintings
Van-Gogh's  "Starry Night"  Cezanne's "Basket of Apples"
Renoir's "Two Apples" to name but a few.

and so for todays post I have for you
"Tomato on a White Platter"

Sliced thinly, sprinkled with sea-salt  -  drizzled with green olive oil
is there anything nicer on a hot summer day?

I can manage the tomato but the hot Summer's day is a bit of a struggle at the moment.

Could I trade you some gray, foggy, chilly days for a Summer one??? I would love that!! Great shots for the day, Dianne!! Hope you have a great, warm, delightful, delicious week!!

Yum! A lovely crisp capture Dianne, thanks for sharing. My taste buds are drooling - served on crunchy toasted ciabatta with a few small cubes of fetta, chopped fresh basil and a good serve of freshly cracked black pepper .... mmmm!

Your tomato reminds me of summer. I wish it was here now. Wonderful photos. Have a happy week!

We include them in salads, soups and make tomato paste or sauce yet take a tomato on its own and you have a piece of perfection on a plate. I like you drawing from the Greats for you simple and very apt appellation.

A flawless tomato. Of course tomatoes in Adelaide are rather good, unlike the South Australian tomatoes we get in Victoria. Good idea to keep the best for yourself.

Love your picture. I grew a lot of these during our summer but never thought to photograph them. Now I wish that I had. Even so I got plenty of enjoyment from eating them.

Actually there IS something better - take one of the above - and add fresh basil!
