Down By The Creek .......

Nasturtiums growing along our local creek-bed
Apparently they have become some-what of a menace
but I can't help loving the burst of colour they bring to my day

i love them too - they come up in my garden and my husband rips them up, although I manage to save a few plants each year so I always have new seed dropping where it will.
Do you know you can eat them? My mum used to say they used to have nasturtium sandwiches when she was a child, and I have seen them in salads.

Great pics.

I grow them as good fillers; great vibrancy, the bees love them. They peter out, I pull them out and they'll be back up again where they choose for another round. Easy to 'weed' if you don't want them there...lovely photos Dianne

Stunning color and a lovely bloom (even if they are a bit of menace)!

Very lovely flower.

Nasturtiums are such pleasant plants Dianne. They come up so fast and look so lush and then burst into an orange spectacle and all of a sudden there gone again.

How sad that nasturtiums would ever be considered a menace. :(

My garden is full of "menaces" but I don't count Nasturtiums among them ... I like them and nurture them.
