Whitewashed .....

~ Behind Closed Doors ~

I spotted this lovely old aged door
at Glen Ewin Estate in the Adelaide foothills
and in case you're wondering what goes on
behind this closed door -  well nothing!!
no "chairs thrown and tables toppled" here
just cob-webbed remains from it's hey-day as
a once thriving jam factory.

I hope no-one ever decides to renovate.

A lovely shot.... charming blend of colours and textures; those tendrils of ivy creeping across the door and the leaves/petals on the door step - wonderful! (Oh what tales must there be from yesteryear behind the door?!)

Marvelous image. It is odd, isn't it, that the things that most catch our eyes are the ones that are well worn, maybe to the point of exhaustion.

It is a beauty. It looks like a painting, unreal.

Great capture Dianne. The paint will continue to fade and peel. The hinges will gradually corrode. I'm glad it is still standing proud of its brighter days.

Love the textures in this photo. Weathered wood is such a delight to feel.

Lovely image. I suppose there must be thousands of not dissimilar old doors throughout the world, and yet the weathered wood and encroaching nature are a perennial favourite, not only pretty but evoking something - some emotion - in us.
