Thoughtful Minds .....

This lovely tea rose has flowered in my garden throughout the coldest of winters
perhaps it doesn't know it's time to sleep and replenish its energy

Exquisite Dianne. I was in Guildford (one of the older suburbs here in Perth) today, and there were some gorgeous old roses blooming in some of the gardens, but I have to say winter has been so mild this year.

So lovely - is there anything more sublime than a rose in bloom? It is summer here for us and a real peak season for roses! Beautiful that you can enjoy them in winter there...

That shot is so expressive! Does the rose have a scent and did you take that with the telephoto or have you invested in a macro lens?

Your light is wonderful, Dianne. As is the rose.

Arija:- I used my new Kenko extension tubes and because of the closeness also used a tripod .... it's all a learning curve!
and yes it has a lovely tea fragrance but unfortunately not a good picking rose .... much better enjoyed on the bush.

so delicate, almost a blush. Quite lovely!

fantastic Dianne; I can almost smell it. There's something special about those flowers in the depths of winter, the petals are sturdy and the colours sharp. This one is so lovely and I agree with the little verse you added too

Hi Dianne ... you must have a green thumb to encourage this little beauty to maintain its show ... Have a good weekend J.

All the more special when it flowers while others sleep. What a pleasure for you to enjoy.

Beautiful Dianne! You can't beat a rose for simply beauty and you captured it brilliantly.
