Sitting On The Fence ....

~  Pied Cormorant soaking up the winter sun  ~

The top pick was taken on a previous visit to my home-town of Port Lincoln
On visiting this week I noticed the tide was almost up to the post tops
and consequently no room for birds to be sitting on the fence

This is a fenced area with the hope that it will protect swimmers against shark attacks

Your pied cormorant is almost the same as I shot in Streaky Bay a few years ago. Also sitting on the shark proof fence. love that clear water. Haven't been in Port Lincoln for a few years now. We used to go to the Eyre Pen. coast quite often when Peter was still at home.

A beautiful picture of the bird!

Airing its wings and maybe sun is good to control mites. Rising sea levels might mean the shark proof swimming area net may have to be raised higher.

Super top image Dianne, I wish they would put shark fences up over here, seriously I don't know how the surfers go out there every day, with the possibility of those fearsome creatures below.

Knowing that fences are needed to protect against sharks is enough to persuade me to swim at the hotel pool.
