Raindrops on Roses .........

A while back I purchased a set of extension tubes for my Canon
in the hope of capturing perfect close-ups of anything and everything.

Well life is never that simple and here we are weeks later
and I'm still getting my head around which tube to use for what
and how to capture those perfect clarity shots to be seen on other blogs

As you can see this raindrops on roses capture
was totally out of focus but I still liked the abstract result.

I shall persevere!

seeming like a learning curve to conquer but I've no doubt you'll make it there. Nothing ventured, nothing gained, you're on the move ...

I do like the impressionistic effect of the bottom image. Some people would spend hours trying to create that effect in Photoshop! I've never really tried for a close-up in any form. Persevere and I'm sure you will master it. But these are pretty in their own right.

I like the softness in the shots. You might have better luck with "close-up macro filters" They Include +1, +2, +4 and +10 diopter filters. You can get them for about 15 dollars. They fit onto the front of your normal lens.

Someone else is using tubes for macro shots, I'll have to look into this as I use a macro lens.
The second shot is kind of an abstract.

I love the abstractness of that 2nd shot. I too have difficulty with the drops, but like you i still don't stop trying. I wonder if it's my lens or my knowledge limiting me of the wonderful dew shot.

Thanks for introducing me to "Extension Tubes" Dianne. I had never heard of them before your post. They sound a bit tricky. I will look out for some other posts from you using the tubes.

Now I'm going to have to go and google extension tubes Dianne, sounds like something I really need :) I love these two images, I've always thought of photography as an art and these two are pretty as picture.

Amazing colours here Dianne. I would also like to focus on some macro shots and look forward to you sharing more of your learnings.
