Blue Skies Over Mikkira .....

I've previously shown you this little work-mans cottage nestled in among manna gums
at Mikkira Station on the southern tip of Eyre Peninsula

This time of the year little clumps of jonquils and daffodils
spring into flower with their sweet perfume pervading the rustic surrounds

you could be in a completely different world; that old cottage would've been spectacular in its day

The little cottage has so much romantic charm! Love the weathered textures of the walls!

Is it still occupied? Although very picturesque it doesn't look weatherproof.

Fun60 ... No it's not occupied ... but had been used in a tv series a few years back. The gums surrounding the cottage are home to many of our big cuddly koalas.

Rising damp but so what? It really is a darling relic of a bygone age.

Dianne,
Sue and I are looking at a sea/tree change in a few years time. This looks like a renovator's delight.
Love your photography always.

An echo of past times Dianne, I can imagine how delightfully simple it would have been years ago..gorgeous little clumps of wildflowers.

Charming captures Dianne. (I was going to ask how you managed to be invited inside to take that delightful interior shot, but you answered the question when responding to Fun60 - thanks!) It certainly sets the thoughts racing on the life of past inhabitants. Happy weekend!

What a delightful little cottage Dianne. I like the way the foundations seem to emerge from the land and morph into white washed walls.

I'm pleased it has been preserved. I guess by whitewashing the inside it would help make the most of natural lighting.
