The Beauty of Decay .........

The wreck of the "Sunbeam" a three masted iron hulled vessel
built in 1857 at Kirkcaldy Scotland.

It was sadly abandoned and left to rot in the
Garden Island ships' graveyard at Port Adelaide South Australia

No longer fulfilling the purpose for which it was built
but currently play-ground for dolphins and feeding-ground
to a wealth of bird and marine life

I think it is deserving of a place in the

Nice capture. I like it when throw aways make a new life for themselves and are appreciated by different tenants.

It's strangely beautiful Dianne. It's home country of Scotland is sorry to see it decaying!

It is surprising that there were not enough valuable components to make it worthwhile taking the ship apart for salvage. But, the rusting hulk is kind of appealing and certainly fits in with the other decaying structures we will see this weekend.

Hi Dianne,

Lovely photo and do love the gorgeous bright colours of rust.
So great too, as a playground for the bird life and dolphins.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend
