~ South end of Glenelg Beach ~
It was a welcome relief to awake this morning to grey skies
after a week of scorching hot weather with not a cloud in sight
I snapped these two captures along a stretch of beach
where one would usually find blue skies merging into sparking blue waters
but today the hues of soft grey across the sea-scape were beauty to my eyes
Which pic to post I couldn't decide
decisions! decisions!
I've posted them both

50 Shades of Grey.....hee hee. The bottom one has the best composition.
and why not. Yes the greys are calming after the scorching temps; hope they hold around for a bit and give welcome respite.

Glad to hear that the weather is "normal" again.
Looks like a cold day, anyway the beach scenery is wonderful, great shots!

A welcome sight no doubt after the heat you've been experiencing. The grey days must feel like our sunshiny days right about now. Our grey days get rather depressing after a while, then in the nick of time it seems the sun peeks out to warm the soul.
Great photos!
You must have enjoyed the day ~ after the all the heat! Grey sea and clouds are beautiful!
I know what you mean. Every now and then we need a little relief. The second photo probably satisfies the Rule of Thirds, but I prefer the starker, centered, straight ahead shot.
Beautiful beach.
Great photos of a beautiful beach ~ It is winter here so my pics are very wintry ~ enjoy ^_^

Glenelg is so different in cloudy weather, definitely softer like you said. I love it there when it is raining too.
I love the greys Dianne, especially as you say after an exhausting hot spell..i'm glad you posted them both, a double dose of grey is much appreciated..that just seems such a strange thing to say haha!
great shots - almost monochromatic.....grey is the color of winter here, but no scorching heat!
Ohhh!
In Norway we have -20, blue and a cold wind.

I've just come back from ten days in Adelaide and have many photos Brighton and Somerton beaches. Many wonderful memories bombard me every time we visit our family. :)
Those clouds look so soft!! It looks a wonderful beach for an early morning stroll!! And there is no snow!!!
Hi Dianne,
Beautiful skies and water, love all the different colours.
Glad to hear that you have a respite with some cooler weather. Today it is overcast here too and I am really liking it.
Happy new week
hugs

Ah, such mellow and beautiful shots. Thank goodness for the cooler weather!
I think the lower oen is a bit better then the first. But...the horizon is a bit too much tilted. Quite easy to correct if you have any program.
I actually like grey shots. They have a special glow in them.
I agree. In the summer when it's is so hot and day after day of sun those days when the sky is grey and soft blue with rain are such a relief. This looks like a perfect day to walk along the beach.
LOVE it! I'm so glad you came by to share on Weekly Top Shot #65!
