I hope I've got their names correct
the little plump close-to-the-ground birds are Red-Kneed Dotterel
and the birds with those elegant long red legs are Pied Stilts
Both are seen in and around wetland and swamp areas
and seem to generally stay in pairs
I love how the Dotterel stand still in the shallows
with their dumpy outline clearly reflected.
These pics were taken at the Greenfield Wetlands

The reeds in that top photo frames the subject perfectly Dianne. Wonderful nature photography Dianne.
Your composition is great! The Triptych is very nice, lovely photography. :)
Love the framing curves...great shot!
I like the way you have framed the first photo with the reeds. Neither bird is familiar to me.
Beautiful series of images Dianne, you are quite the birder with that new camera of yours.
Wow, love those pinkish legs. And the framing of the photos is nice.
Gorgeous critters and you got wonderful pictures, thanks for sharing!

Beautiful photos and a perfect place to photograph waterbirds. Wish I could get that close to Dotterels!

Nice pretty shots!
Beautiful.
I enjoyed those pretty birds, cute shots!
Lovely shots. I like the way the grass frames the birds in the first photo.
Great pictures - I remember seeing my first "Red-Kneed" at a Sewage Works near Geelong!
The Stilt is a Black Winged Stilt - you can tell because the back of its neck is black!
Cheers and thanks for linking to WBW.
