Streets Of Purple ........

It's that time of year when the beautiful jacaranda trees
bloom with big panicles of blossoms
They line our streets and in some instances
form archways carpeted with a purple haze

to some residents they are a menace - to me they are a delight

Without seeing the houses, that is an expensive street to live in, I think. Our Jacarandas are not in full bloom quite yet. Isn't the pinkish red plant, climbing over something I think, interesting.

I first came across these trees in Alice Springs last month. Can you imagine my delight at seeing such a magnificent sight. I was quite overwhelmed. Thanks for reminding me.

Beautiful! The jacarandas have almost finished here. Your street scene with the lush greens, red highlights and stately fences is very picturesque.

Gosh that street looks familiar....
of course! It's ADELAIDE!
ha ha
I love Adelaide. my road looks much the same except the fences are different. Purple as far as you can see.
@Andrew, the pinky climbing thing is probably an ivy geranium.

Jacarandas...what I miss the most about living in SA. A lovely photo, but now I am "homesick"!

Quite breathtaking Dianne. We have planted our Jacaranda in our front garden but it hasn't moved much as yet. Hope it does soon.

Beautiful image Dianne. I agree with you. I mentioned to someone a few days ago that I'd like a Jacaranda in my garden, the reply was "but what about the mess" well what about it, at least it looks good and not so hard to rake up eventually oui!

Dianne your photo is stunning! What an excellent shot and magnificent colors. I must also admit that I'm a wee bit jealous, I'd much rather be strolling the streets of Adelaide than be running from my home to car because it's so chilly outside!
