Great White Egret .....

On rounding the corner at the Greenfields Wetlands
I expected to see the usual pelican who generally
takes up residence on the dead tree log in the lake
He's what I refer to as  - Boss of the pond -
but instead I was delighted to find this beautiful Great White Egret.

He slowly flew off across the lake before
circling back to the waters edge where I was able to
take a closer look - yes! yellow bill and dark legs

Gorgeous bird ... I love water birds like this. Love the dexterity of his neck, too.

Two beautiful shots, Dianne. He certainly poses pretty, doesn't he? I love the big log in the first photo and the reflection in the other.

In my encounters with egrets, I have not seen any perched high up, they are usually by the water's edge.

Nice capture and such a crisp reflection.

Aha! As soon as I saw that log I thought I recognised it!! Greenfields Wetlands always delivers, doesn't it?!

Even if it is just a cake/coffee at the Watershed ...
