Country Roads Take Me Home ......

While out meandering along country laneways
I couldn't help but think of the song by John Denver
"Country Roads take me home - to the place I belong"

While I live far from West Virginia and Mountain Mama
I was born and bred in the country and love nothing better than to be
sauntering along the backroads of my home state.

How lovely. I was thinking this morning as I fought my way off the train and through the city to my grey office, how I'd love to be somewhere green and quiet and peaceful.

Great pics...that road pic is beautiful and makes me want to be on the road heading off somewhere. Love the maggie on the wagon. That wagon is worthy of some more pics I think!

What a wonderful look at your world, Dianne! I, too, love your country road shot and what a terrific old wagon! I would love to know its history! Hope your week is going well! Enjoy!!

The one with the apple tree is my favorite. It would be hard to pass this orchard without grabbing an apple or two.

I certainly feel at home on country roads.

This is a great time of the year to be out and about - even a bit of rain brings out the colour.

Really like the magpie on the cart.

Cheers - Stewart M - Melbourne

PS: I can’t help a football line here: That last image is just the Magpie bandwagon - but it looks it bit broken!

Beautiful scenes. I'm rather nostalgic about country roads too, especially ones like this surrounded with trees, especially if the road is a dirt one like the ones I grew up with.

Yes, lovely shots Dianne - especially the opening one of a country road. A drive in the country (if one is unable to reside there permanently) is certainly good for relaxing, changing the sometimes frantic pace of life and an opportunity to fully appreciate nature and its bounties. Thanks for sharing.

Wonderful shots, Dianne, and that apple tree looks wonderful. Nothing like the taste of freshly-picked apples!
