Behind Closed Doors ..............

There's something mysterious about old doors
bolted shut, obviously not used for many a year
patched and peeled where maybe one would find
as the poet Edward Lilley once penned

"half remembered plans, bound with twine
behind rotting bales"

The top pic is the doorway of an old stone shepherds hut
nestled into the hill-side of a country lane way

I found this doorway smack-bang in the centre of the city
sitting cheek-to-jowl amid state of the art high-rise apartments
a remnant of the olde east-end produce markets
I hope it remains for a long time

Full of mystery. Wonderful textures in the old doors and rock wall.

The past has shut these doors and the future will re-open them.

I also love old doors, what makes them even better are old signs. Great find Dianne.
