My Ode To Autumn .......

~ Somewhere North of Gawler ~

"Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness
close bosom-friend of the maturing sun
Conspiring with him how to load and bless
with fruit the vines around the thatch-eves run.
To blend with apples the moss'd cottage trees
and fill all fruit with ripeness to the core......  J Keats

..........................................

As I looked across this golden paddock
with the gnarled and moss'd cottage tree
I thought of the poem by Jonathon Keats.
A long way from the Autumn of his dreams
but mellow and beautiful in it's own way

The photo shows a real autumn as we also know it in the northern hemisphere. The poem of Keats is a great poem to accompany the photo.
Thanks for your comment on the Aboriginal history. There is still a gap between the white Australians and the indigenous people, but things are changing for the better.Keep talking and reading.

Beautiful image Dianne, I can't wait until the leaves turn golden and fall, even more I'm looking forward to some rain. I know you've has so much over there, but it's been so dry here in the west.

Lovely image, Dianne. I am especially captivated by the corrugated iron. Your paddocks are still brown after all this rain! Our countryside is a vision of green, even given all the flowing muddy water at the moment.

Lovely shots and poem. We have had a coolish day here after a week of intense humidity and heat. It won't feel like Autumn here until at least April maybe May but i did notice some leaves on a liquid amber tree going a little red.

The seasons are on the move - had my first face full of spider web this morning as I was going to collect the paper. A sure sign that autumn is on the way!

I love old broken down buildings and this one is fantastic. I wonder who walked the ground around them, went inside them, what they did, who they were. Great shot.
