A Thing Of The Past......

~  Thorndon Park Water Tower ~

No! it's not the leaning Tower of Pisa ... but an old water tower built in the early 1800's
which is no longer in use but now designated as an architectural landmark

The resevoir and surrounds have been turned into a picturesque park
with walking tracks giving access to the many marshy water areas
with a wealth of bird life

This water tower is different from any I have ever seen before. The reflections in the second photo are very pretty and make me wish it were summer here already. :)

Hi Dianne,

Loved seeing your beautiful photos, the old water tower and park are very picturesque.
Your sky is so beautiful and blue and makes a change from our weather today, grey and overcast and looking more like Autumn.

Happy Wednesday

Hello Dianne
'Startling' first picture - certainly rivals the Pisa Tower in a fun way lol
Thanks for sharing the reflections and coolness of the second one

It is nice piece of architecture. I am curious what the rest of it looks like. I love the second shot with its pristine reflections. I wish it was summer here too.

Love the arch detail at the top of the water tower, and the second image is a vision of serene lushness! Gorgeous shot Dianne.
