When The Rubber Hits The Road............

Lampre chats with LiquidGas
as the "Santos Tour Down Under" heads out
on the stage one " Prospect to Clare" event

They will travel 149km in just under 4 hours
and the top favourite to win this stage is none-other
 than Andre Griepel

I love the atmosphere along the road-side while waiting for the tour to appear
horns blowing-Skoda cars zipping here and there police cars with sirens & lights blazing
and of course official photographers waiting for that big shot - then woosh!!
I managed two clicks and they were gone.

It's so exhilarating to see that many fit people all in one spot like that Dianne! Great shots, love the colours, the action.(not so much the bike helmets, they freak me out. bizarre phobia I know!!)

Interesting. Great perspectives to cover the event.

Wonderfully colourful and vibrant action shots Dianne.

While you (and they) were out "braving" the 37 degrees C, I was cooling off in a friend's swimming pool (sook that I am when it comes to the heat!).

If those are your two clicks, then you are very good. At an event like this, I would have needed maybe 20 images to have one worth posting.

Great shots, Dianne, putting us in the thick of the action. I hope they are all keeping well-hydrated in that extreme heat!

Great captures.

I went to watch last year when they came through One Tree Hill. Waited like forever and then they were gone in a flash...Only managed a couple of shots.

Great shots, I enjoy cycling races but the coverage is very paltry here, Ch 9 have it when of course it should be on SBS.

Both photos capture the incredible energy in this competitive event! And what a sunny day picking up the bright colours of the cyclists' outfits!

You did well with two clicks. How did you manage not to shake with all that testosterone passing by?

You managed very well to catch them. Great photo's. You're right the atmosphere around the tour is very exciting. We once watched the arrival of the Tour the France in Paris and it was the same. All the cars and advertisement passing by, a whole circus and at last the cyclists in a wink away.
