Bleached Timber & Hollow Rumblings..............

~ Henley Beach Jetty ~

There's something magical about the underside of jetties
water gently lapping against wooden struts
hollow rumblings from footsteps overhead
textures of bleached timber aged and splintered
and of course light and shade and that wonderful salty smell of the sea.

I can't think of a better place to be on a hot summer morning

Fabulous perspective Dianne. Lovely rich tones of the morning sun making its presence felt and that water looks SO, SO inviting, as we're yet another day of temperatures in the high 30's ! Keep cool.

Great captures, Dianne, and I have to agree with you, I love walking under jetties more than on them!
GReat perspective in both shots!

Lovely pictures with the sun under the pilars. Only don't see much differences between the first and the second.

I have never been under a jetty... so thank you for giving a peek of what it is like!

These are pretty, Dianne. I like the concentric line-up leading to the distance.

I agree, I always liked the underside of a pier or a jetty. The saltwater scent seems magnified and so does the sense of adventure.

These a beautiful photos .... I don't think I've ever looked under a jetty. As for hot mornings ... nothing but rain here for weeks.

Great shot using coverging lines to draw the eye in to the magic light.

I totally agree Dianne, I think it's the old wood and the way the pylons make the best reflections and as you say the muffled sounds above!! I wish I was near a jetty now just to get away from this heat, think I'm heading for a meltdown haha!

Fabulous captures Dianne - colours, perspective, light, composition. You have it all there as well as the feel of being under the jetty. I can smell the sea!

I agree. The symmetry and light is stunning.

I love this pattern photo, especially with the warm sunlight lifting the greys.

Don't use this word often but this is just a fabulous photo-the subject, perspective, the light on the water contrasts. Love it!
