The Palm House...........

A little touch of Victoriana in our Botanic Gardens

This wonderful glasshouse was imported from Bremen Germany
in 1875 and is currently home to a collection of Malagasy arid plants
Although this collection is quite unique -I would have to say they are not my favourite
type of plants but I love the structure and feel of this decorative building

Sounds a bit incongrous: Malagassy Arid plants in a glass house. I do like the structure of the building though.

Two different and interesting views of the glass house, one low and artistic and the second wide enough to show it in context. Well done.

Those Victorians sure knew how to design with elegance. Lovely lines and curves, the diamond shaped blue glass panels around the higher levels are just gorgeous! Now if it was filled with some sort of exotic orchids or something how perfect would that be! Beautifully shown Dianne.

Fabulous buildings. Looks like the plants are so well nurtured that they could burst out of there. Love the first shot Dianne.

Great shots, must go down there again soon. Last time I visited the cacti were quite small. Ah well, that comes of living out of town.
