A Drive In The Country........

Maggie Beers' Farm  -  Barossa Valley

Spring is the time for a drive in the country with friends
and of course topped off by a rustic picnic-fare lunch
at one of my favourite places.
.....................

Maggie makes these wonderful picnic box lunches
and so on each visit I choose a different box
Today it was Pheasant Farm pate with caramelized onions
freekah salad and wood-oven baked bread
delicious!

Looking through the window from the kitchen
where the tv program "The Cook & The Chef" was filmed

Wonderfully evocative shots Dianne - once again their sharpness of detail is inspiring. And what a fabulous (and itself inspirational) place to visit - Maggie is a legend - and how blessed we are to have the farm "on our doorstep"!

A very charming place with mouth-watering descriptions. Looks like your picnic lunch was even more scrumptuous than mine !

PS - walking from Caromb to Le Baroux you would have experienced wonderful views over the Dentelles. I hope you get to visit again and we can meet!

Oh I loved that program Dianne, they worked so well together, how fab to see where they actually filmed the series. Have been enjoying catching up with your posts that I've missed while away in Sydney, J'adore the 'Reflections Amid the Lotus', stunning images, looking forward to when they are in full bloom.

Wow! The kitchen looks perfect - almost TOO perfect! Just like a TV set - oh, it WAS a TV set?? That explains everything!!

Perfect pictures, but the thing that caught my attention in these first cold days of autumn, was the word 'spring'!

OMG, the minute the picture came up I thought this reminds me of Maggie Beer's kitchen, and there it is.
I really miss the Chef & the Cook or was it the Cook & the Chef. She is just brilliant.
My favs are her fig, quince and Cabernet pastes, heaven with soft cheese.
