Victoria Amazonica.....

I got a bit carried away taking photos of this giant amazon water-lily
~Victoria Amazonica~  housed in the glass water lily pavilion at the
Adelaide Botanic Gardens.
The first night it opens in a soft creamy white colour
and the second night a soft light pink  - as you can see here.
I'm hoping to be able to catch the creamy white flower tomorrow
but it's all a matter of timing!

Hopefully this bud will be open within the next two days

Very nice photo. Can I order a bouquet of these water lilies or must I take a trip down the Amazon?

Spectacular... looks like the flowers from "Little Shop of Horrors"!

Joe- unfortunately if you want a bouquet you're going to have to take that trip down the piranha infested Amazon - from which you may or may not return!!

That is the most exquisite bloom Dianne, it just looks so lush, the reflections have a dreamlike quality, beautifully done. hope you manage to catch it when it turns to cream.

These are amazing, Dianne. And the water is still as a mirror.

After visiting the white one, I prefer it. However, the photography is as excellent here as it is there!
