A short photographic walk to the ruins of the
original site of Newman's Nursery in "Anstey Hill"
( 1857 - 1871 )
Charles and Mary Newman and their 17 children !!!
tended over 700 varieties of roses on this now derelict parcel of land
Many photos were taken and many were deleted
washed out - too much light - too many shadows
shots that seemed a good idea at the time
but in retrospect were just plain terrible
I guess that's the fun of photo shoots!
The path back down the hill running side by side
to a babbling brook overgrown with lillies and ferns!
