Yukkas and Rust.......

Looking out across a paddock of yukkas near Port Lincoln  - These sturdy old plants are an integeral part of the southern Eyre Peninsula landscape or what I would refer to as scrub!!

And the rust - well just because I love rust!

Yuccas always make me think of Mexico. Beautiful photos. Delightful that someone loves rust!

Both beautiful shots in their own way. Love the scenery in the top one.

I suppose you can still get 44 gallon, sorry, 205 litre steel drums? Or have they been replaced by plastic. Oh, idea for a post.

Lovely Shot Diane, one day I hope to visit.

I managed to kill a yukka once, through sheer neglect of my duties. I was young and foolish, in my defence, but still feel bad about it now!

Those yukkas do have a bit of a Mexican feel to them Dianne, really dramatic from the angle you've taken the shot, love the rusty barrel's warm golden colour.

Love that rusty barrel photo. Where I was born and came from, we always had an old rusty barrel like this one and it was used to put trash in to burn. Metal cans burned the paper off and the same with glass. We had no trash collection so now and then we had to smash the trash flat and break the glass into pieces and dig a big hole and bury the trash. Some archaeologist will have a field day of discoveries.

I like the top photo too but it looks like my back yard sorely in need of weeding.
