Autumn Leaves - Olive Trees and Lunch at "Pomegranate Cottage"

Heading out towards the Barossa Valley
the country-side is a picture -  with the vines
 turning a beautiful golden colour
as autumn descends.
Interestingly this property is planted with both
grape vines and olive trees.

~The Pomegranate Cottage~

For me - no day out is complete without a stop for lunch
This little cafe cum coffee shop in the main street of Birdwood
with gnarled pomegranate tree in the front yard- log fire burning inside
and home made country style food on the menu
 just perfect!

The vineyard is gorgeous. Your season is the opposite of ours, so I guess the grapes and olives should be getting ready for harvest.

Jack: the grape harvest has almost finished here but the olives are usually harvested in May.

Autumn is such a photogenic time of year and a field of grape vines symbolizes it so well.

Love the photos. Working on a vineyard though know just how much work it all takes.

Your my kind of girl, no outing is complete without stopping for lunch. This place sounds perfect. The autumn colours are lovely too. We don't get many here just more rain.
