A Grand Old Dame.....

One of our grand old buildings originally built in 1856
a hive of activity with lots of small kiosk type shops
fruit stalls - news agents -barber shops
with commuters going to and fro the city CBD
over 40,000 people pass through this station every day

Gosh another photo that really stirs up my childhood memories. 40,000 a day? That's such a sane and manageable thought. Howrah Station? 23 platforms, 600 trains, more than a million pax a day. ONE MILLION. :)
